Donna McCallum Shares Her Fairy Dust at Her Book Launch

Donna McCallum

The Fairy Godmother's Guide to Getting What You WantThe launch of Donna McCallum’s The Fairy Godmother’s Guide to Getting What You Want was a spectacular synchronous event revealing how a wish, combined with the right attitude and techniques, can come true. The atmosphere was exuberant as author McCallum and her “supporting cast” shared magical insights into how to get what you want with over 200 attendees.

Donna was a successful advertising executive – but received something like a “vision” on a trip to Argentina and realised that her true purpose was to be the proverbial fairy godmother: that is, the person who can help make others’ dreams come true. With her new book, she hopes to inspire thousands. She stands in as a terrific example of the power of believing yourself: as she related at the event, six weeks after her “epiphany”, Oshun Books approached her and offered her a book deal, though she had not yet written a word!

The evening was filled with delightful entertainment, an “experiential adventure” that nourished body, mind and soul – the three pillars that when aligned can put your dreams on the map. McCallum said, “Tonight is about dreaming big, tonight is about living an extraordinary life.” Aside from the elegant bustling foyer of Zenatude, there were three other rooms to explore.

Things started off in normal book-launch fashion with snacks and mingling as students from Donna’s “Dream Mapping” and other workshops shared their success stories. Beverley Buckley closed the talks with a musical performance. She also did a Fairy Godmother course – then quit her job and started two companies of her own. “The course is better than sliced bread, better than chocolate, better than raw cocoa which beats it all,” she said.

The rest of the evening was definitely out of the ordinary: guests were invited to explore what McCallum’s students and associates had achieved. The journey through the body room encompassed pole dancing shows; fitness and nutrition displays; fabulous fairy cakes; the latest fashions; free makeovers and massages; a sound journey and finding out about swimming with dolphins. The mind room displayed life coaching techniques for kids and the soul room provided a space to go inwards, light a candle and make a wish.

What a night! One that the guests, covered in McCallum’s fairy dust, won’t soon forget.
